The Google Doodle for today honours the fearless spirit of a woman stunt performer who beat all odds, including her disability, to become the fastest woman in the world. Kitty O'Neil, who was born on 24 March 1946 and has been deaf since she was a young kid, rose to fame as a daredevil, stunt performer, and driver of rocket-powered vehicles.

She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, to an Irish father and a Cherokee Native American mother 77 years ago. Kitty O'Neil experienced many illnesses in the months following her birth, each of which brought on a high fever. She eventually stopped hearing because of a high fever. Yet, she developed her communication skills throughout time and tailored them to varied audiences.

She never considered her disability as a constraint because of her tenacity and drive to succeed in life, and she frequently referred to it as an asset. Subsequently, she picked up numerous communication techniques, and during the course of her life, she adapted for varied audiences. When she hurt her wrist and became unwell, her dream of scuba diving was dashed. She did, however, follow her passion for action and adventure through high-speed sports and stunt performances.

O'Neil started experimenting with different activities, such as motorcycle racing and water skiing. She also engaged in risky acting feats like jumping from aircraft and plunging from great heights while on fire.

She proved herself as a genuine Wonder Woman in the late 1970s by pulling off difficult feats for the Wonder Woman movie (1977-79). In movies like The Blues Brothers, she served as the stunt double (1980). She was the first woman to join Stunts Unlimited, a group for the best stunt performers in Hollywood, thanks to her great work.
