New Delhi: The chief election commissioner, Rajiv Kumar announced on Thursday that voting for the Gujarat Assembly elections will take place in two stages on December 1 and 5, with the counting of ballots taking place on December 8.
He said that the first and second phases of the Gujarat Assembly elections would take place on December 1 and 5, respectively, with the results being announced on December 8.
As per the Chief election Commissioner, as many as 3,24,422 persons would be exercising their right to vote for the first time in the state.
"I'm pleased to announce that 3,24,422 new voters will cast their first ballot in the Gujarat Assembly elections this time. There are 51,782 polling locations overall. At least 50% of the state's voting locations will have webcasting capabilities "added Kumar.
"In order to improve the voting process, 1274 polling places will only be staffed by women and security personnel. At 182 polling places, voters will be greeted by the Public Works Department. 33 polling places will be set up and run for the first time by the newest poll workers" he added.
Gujarat Assembly polls Highlights: Phases 1 and 2 notification dates are November 5 and November 10, respectively.
The deadlines for Phase 1 and Phase 2 nominations are November 14 and November 17, respectively.
Phases 1 and 2 of the nomination review process will take place on November 15 and November 19, respectively.
The deadline to withdraw your application is November 17 for Phase 1 and November 21 for Phase 2, respectively.
Phases 1 and 2 of the survey were conducted on December 1 and December 5, respectively.
