Gujarat police arrests youth for eloping with a child: Gujarat police have detained a youth from Assam at the Vadodara railway station for eloping with a minor girl from Jamnagar.

In a statement to the media, Inspector K.L. Gaadhe of the Jamnagar Police said that the girl's parents had called the police on Monday morning to report their 17-year-old daughter missing.

Gaadhe said that the family claimed she met Jehrul Ismail, a young person, on social media and that they grew close friends. The parents thought he had taken their daughter hostage.

The police immediately began the girl's phone on surveillance and found that her location was Vadodara.
After being alerted, the Vadodara railway police apprehended the girl and young man and brought them to Jamnagar on Monday night.

According to Gaadhe, Jehrul has been charged with kidnapping, and the two must go through medical testing.
If required, other sections of POCSO and IPC will be invoked against the youth, he said.
