Gurugram: A case of cheating of Rs 11 lakh from a woman has come to light in the name of getting online work done from Gurugram. Cyber Police of Manesar near Gurugram has given information about this. He has told that the woman is a resident of Agra who is currently living in Sector 85 of Gurugram. According to the woman, she was looking for online work from home options. At the same time the thugs contacted her and said that she would have to like some YouTube videos and subscribe to some YouTube channels, for which she would get money.
The woman has told the police in her complaint that she had received a message on WhatsApp which was for a part-time job offer. When She contacted, she was told that she would have to do some online work. The woman told that she was told in the message that if she wanted work, she had to contact another given number. She approached and was given the first assignment on 13 April. The accused had shared the link of a Telegram group to the woman. There were a total of 185 members in this group. Many people in this group had shared screen shots of transaction messages of their work and money received from it. The first accused asked the woman to invest Rs 5,000, in return for which she got Rs 6,440. For this reason, she felt that she was not being cheated in any way. And she trusted the company.
After this the woman was asked to invest Rs 11 lakh. The woman trusted and put Rs 11 lakh in the company. After this, no contact could be made with the accused. After this the woman went to the police and complained about this fraud. Now the police is probing the matter.
