Anu Rani, an Indian woman athlete, is celebrating her birthday today. She continued her great performance and set a new national record in the past World Athletics Championship and qualified for the finals. Anu has become the first Indian to reach the final of the women's javelin throwing event at the World Athletics Championships.

The 2014 Asian Games gold medal winner Anu set a new national record by throwing a throw of 62.43 meters in the Group-A qualifier, breaking her own old record (62.34) in the championship and qualified for the finals by finishing 5th in the qualifier. The final took place the next day.

Anu, who won a silver medal at the 23rd Asian Athletics Championships in April this year, threw 57.05 in her first attempt, 62.43 (national record) in the second and 60.50 in the third attempt. Anu, 27, has set a national record by throwing a throw of 62.34 meters in the Federation Cup held in Patiala in 2019 before this.

Meanwhile, Anjali Devi missed out on the 400m final. Anjali finished 6th in the 400m race heat. She was able to finish in 52.33 seconds and has not made it to the 400 meters final. Archana also finished eighth in Heat-2 in the women's 200m race. She was able to take time of 23.65 seconds and missed out on qualifying for the final.
