Daughter's day is celebrated on 27th September in India. Every year it has a tradition of celebrating the 4th Sunday of September. The International Daughter's Day is being celebrated on September 28. In some countries, it is also celebrated on 25th September, some on October 1. However, the day for the dignity and equality of girls is being celebrated today in countries like USA, UK, Canada and Germany.

Why is It celebrated Doters Day?: There was a tradition of linking the birth of a girl to stigma. In the earlier times, when a boy was a boy, he was given a warm welcome. However, in many parts of the country, even today, daughters are neglected and no attention is given to proper rearing. The tradition of celebrating the Daughters' Day was introduced to wipe out the same ideology. So, awareness against this discrimination against girls is increased and equality between gender is being promoted.

On this day, parents or other family members can give gifts to their beloved daughters.
