Ahmedabad: Former Gujarat working president Hardik Patel, who resigned from the Congress party, has made it clear that he is not joining the BJP. On Thursday, he also attacked Congress party leaders without knowing their names. He said that even after putting the problems before former president Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, they were ignored. The Patidar leader had announced to quit the party's membership through a tweet on Wednesday. He had been running away from Congress for a long time.

According to media reports, Patel said, "There are discussions in the party that people will vote for the Congress when they get bored. I have spoken to Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi and apprised them of the problems of Gujarat. He asked me and I told him. It was then that I became oblivious. I had decided to leave the party with courage rather than sorrow. Patel's resignation is seen as a major setback for the Congress.''

During an interaction with media persons, Patel also raised questions on the way the party works and its leaders. "7-8 people have been running the Congress for 33 years. Workers like me travel 500-600 km daily. If I go among the people and try to know their situation, here the big leaders sit in the AC rooms and try to obstruct my efforts.''
