Haryana: New international cricket stadium to come up

The Haryana Cricket Association (HCA) plans to build up a new international cricket stadium in Jhajjar district near the state border with Delhi. “We have already acquired the land near the Badsa village in the Jhajjar district and all the formalities will be completed in the next few months.

We have set a time frame of three years for the stadium. We want it as per international standards. We have visited some of the stadiums in England for this purpose. It will be 25,000-30,000 capacity stadium with modern infrastructure," said HCA president Anirudh Chaudhary.

To be eligible to host international matches, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), that governs cricket in India, requires state associations to have their own stadiums or at least lease them for long periods. The new stadium might enable the Haryana body to bring matches to the state.
