Chandigarh: A search operation has been on in the entire district after DSP Surender Singh Bishnoi was crushed to death by a truck at Nuh in the Mewat district of Haryana. In this connection, the Haryana Police on Tuesday (July 26, 2022) carried out a search operation in the slums of Rohingya Muslims in Nuh. The police seized 30 vehicles. These include 11 rickshaws and 17 bikes.

Nuh SP Varun Singla said, "We have a complete database of Rohingyas and we conducted a special search operation in their camps. We are trying to ensure that no wrong element is taking shelter in these camps. Our raids will continue to arrest the culprits, especially elements involved in illegal mining in the district.'' The SP further said that so far the police team has carried out search operations in 33 villages and seized 361 suspicious vehicles. The Rohingya Muslims did not have the documents of these vehicles, therefore, they have been seized.

The SP further said that if a Rohingya comes to the police department with a valid document of a vehicle and the documents are found to be correct, then he will be let off, otherwise, strict action will be taken against them. According to police, a total of 1,771 Rohingya Muslims have been living in Rohingya camps located in Nuh, Shahpur Nangli, Punhana, Chandeni and Ferozepur for the past several months. On July 26, a search operation was conducted at these places.

On July 19, 2022, DSP Surender Singh Bishnoi was crushed to death with a dumper by the mining mafias in Nuh, Haryana. The incident took place when the police arrived in the hills of Pachgaon in Nuh to arrest the illegal mining mafias. The DSP was due to retire this year. It is being considered as the biggest incident in the district so far in the history of mining mafias.
