Chandigarh:The Superintendent of Police has taken major action in connection with the security lapses of Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar at Yamunanagar in Haryana. The Superintendent of Police has taken action against 37 employees including 18 policemen, three special police officers and 16 personnel of the Home Guard department. Out of these, 18 policemen have been suspended.

The Superintendent of Police has also ordered a departmental inquiry against the policemen. The SP has also terminated the services of three special police officers. Yamunanagar Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goel has taken this action due to alleged negligence in security duties on the trust of Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar in Jagadhari town of Yamunanagar district. 18 policemen including five sub-inspectors and three assistant sub-inspectors have been suspended by the Superintendent of Police.

Of these, 14 policemen were suspended today, while four were suspended yesterday. They have also issued orders for departmental inquiry against them. At the same time, Kamaldeep Goel has terminated the services of three special police officers and returned 16 Home Guard personnel to his department. He has also written to home guard officials for departmental action against them.
