USA: Elon Musk is not pleased with his declining Twitter following. On the microblogging platform, where he has more than 125 million followers, Musk has recently become fixated on the amount of interaction his posts are receiving.
For that reason, he allegedly even fired an engineer. Platformer claims that the company's remaining engineers created a system to address this problem and boost the CEO's reputation.
When Musk first started using Twitter, his posts received a lot of views and likes. The number has been declining over the last few weeks, though. The CEO of Twitter thought the problem was technical and wanted his engineers to fix it. In the past, Musk has blasted Twitter for favouring some users over others.

James Musk, Elon Musk's cousin, sent a message to Twitter staff members on Slack on Monday morning. We are investigating a platform-wide engagement problem, it said. The issue is "high urgency," he continued, and he urged anyone who can assist to "thumbs up" the post. Engineers who had been up all night realised what kind of emergency it was when they logged onto their laptops.
The tweet from US Vice President Joe Biden encouraging his wife to cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl caused a stir on Twitter. Musk's tweet about supporting the Eagles received slightly more than 9.1 million impressions, compared to Biden's tweet, which received around 29 million. Later, out of frustration, the CEO of Twitter deleted his tweet.
Musk had problems with the interaction on his posts before. One of Twitter's two principal engineers was fired last week, according to Platformer, for claiming that the reason Musk's tweets were losing popularity was because people were no longer that interested in what he had to say. Musk became enraged and yelled, "You're fired, you're fired."

Musk, who had just lost to the US President, was furious and flew to San Francisco to meet his staff in person. He asked them to address the problem. They would have been fired if they hadn't done that. The new top priority was to address Musk's engagement-related problems. Over 80 engineers spent the entire night on the project.
The engineers' efforts weren't in vain. They came up with a fix.
Plaformer claims that Twitter used a code to automatically bypass its content filters so that Musk's tweets would be displayed to users. The code ensured that Musk's tweets ranked higher than anyone else's in the feed by artificially boosting them by a factor of 1,000.
Musk's tweets and replies dominated Twitter after the update. Users began to complain about seeing him all the time as a result. Musk himself made a "bottle feeding" meme to acknowledge the new development. Additionally, he advised customers to hold off until the business "adjusts" the algorithm. That does not, however, imply a total turnabout. The factor is currently less than 1,000.

Musk hinted that he might leave his position as Twitter's CEO by the end of 2023. He said, while speaking at the World Government Summit in Dubai, that before he departs, Twitter must have a strong financial foundation. He continued, "I think it would be a good idea to find someone else to run the company probably towards the end of the year."
Musk remained mum regarding his CEO successor. He did, however, jokingly post a picture of his dog Floki sitting at a desk and donning a CEO t-shirt after the interview. "The new CEO of Twitter is amazing," the caption declares. Several reports claim that the search for a new CEO has been ongoing for some time.
