Hate speech case: Azam Khan's problems will increase again

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party leader and former minister Azam Khan was acquitted by a sessions court in the hate speech case, but now the government is preparing to appeal against this decision in the High Court. Let me tell you that after being sentenced in this case, Azam lost his mlaship. After the acquittal, the SP has been demanding the restoration of Azam's mlaship. At the same time, Azam can also go to the Supreme Court with a plea to restore his mlaship.

According to media reports, the prosecution department of the Yogi government will soon file an appeal in the Allahabad High Court against the decision of the Sessions Court of Rampur. Rampur's Joint Director (In-charge), Prosecution, SP Pandey has termed the court's decision as unilateral and said that we will appeal against the order of discharging Azam Khan. The matter will first be referred to the Law Department of Lucknow. Let us know that many cases against Azam Khan are pending in the courts. The hate speech case in which he has been discharged dates back to 2019.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Azam was accused of making inflammatory speeches in public meetings. A complaint was lodged against him at Milk Kotwali. In this case, on 27 October 2022, the MP-MLA Special Court Magistrate Trial sentenced him to three years in jail . Along with this, he was released on bail, giving him time to appeal. Azam Khan had filed a petition in the sessions court against the sentence verdict. On Wednesday, the decision on this appeal came in favor of the SP leader. He was discharged in the hate speech case.

After Azam's acquittal, the Samajwadi Party has come on the front foot. There is a demand from the party to restore Azam's assembly membership. At the same time, the Yogi government is preparing to move the High Court against the decision of the Sessions Court. Assistant District Government Advocate Pratap Singh Maurya has informed that the decision is being studied. There is a 90 day time period for appeals.

I will get the officers to clean the shoes:

SP leader Azam Khan's dispute with officials is not a matter of today. During the 2017 UP Assembly elections, a video of Azam Khan went viral, in which he was seen standing in a car and campaigning. During this, he had said that do not be afraid of the Collector, this is Tankhaiya. They are not afraid of tantrums. And see photos of Mayawati ji, how big officers are cleaning shoes by taking out handkerchiefs. Yes, there is an alliance with them. I will clean their shoes if God wills. '
