Mathura: The Hindu side has received a setback from the Supreme Court in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi case of Mathura. The apex court has stayed the decision of the Allahabad High Court, in which an order was issued to appoint a court commissioner to survey the Shahi Idgah. On December 14 last year, the Allahabad High Court had approved the survey of the Shahi Eidgah complex adjacent to the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura, against which the Muslim side had also approached the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court, while hearing the petition of the Muslim side, has said that the hearing in this case is going to continue in the High Court, but there is going to be an interim stay on the appointment of the Court Commissioner to conduct the survey." The Supreme Court questioned the Hindu side. While raising it he said that your application is not clear. You have to clearly tell what you want. Along with this, the transfer case is also pending in the court. We have to take a decision on that also.

Lord Shri Krishna Virajman and 7 other people had filed a petition in Allahabad High Court through lawyers Hari Shankar Jain, Vishnu Shankar Jain, Prabhash Pandey and Devki Nandan demanding survey in Shahi Eidgah, demanding ASI survey. The petition claimed that the birthplace of Lord Shri Krishna is located below the mosque and there are many indications which establish that the mosque was a Hindu temple. Hindu side's lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain had said that in the petition it was presented before the Allahabad High Court that there was a lotus shaped pillar present there which was a specialty of Hindu temples.

Along with this, there is also an image of 'Sheshnag', who is said to be one of the Hindu deities. He had protected Lord Krishna on the night of his birth. It was also submitted in the court that there are Hindu religious symbols and carvings on the lower portion of the pillars of the mosque. The applicant had requested the court that a commission is going to be appointed with specific instructions to submit its report after surveying the Shahi Idgah Mosque within some stipulated time period. Now there are reports that a separate hearing will be held on January 23 at Mathura Krishna Janmabhoomi.
