The Meteorological Department has given the news of relief amidst the scorching heat. Southwest Monsoon is very likely to advance into some parts of South Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and Andaman & Nicobar Islands during next 3 days. Due to this, there are chances of rain in many areas. Meanwhile, a fresh Western Disturbance is also set to affect Northwest India from May 23. 

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the next 5 days, there may be rain in many parts of the country. The Meteorological Department estimates that there will be heavy rainfall at different places in Assam and Meghalaya from 20 to 24. On the other hand, there are chances of rain in Arunachal Pradesh on 20 and 21 May and in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on 24 May. Apart from this, light rain may occur over West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 5 days. There is a possibility of hailstorm at different places of Odisha on 20th May. There is a possibility of lightning in the areas along the banks of the Ganga in West Bengal on 23 May.

Due to a fresh Western Disturbance, there may be rain in the Western Himalayan region as well. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of hailstorm and lightning in Uttarakhand on May 24. Here the wind can blow at a speed of 50-60 kilometers per hour. There is a possibility of dust storm in different areas of Rajasthan from 22 to 24 May. At the same time, light rain may occur at isolated places in Chhattisgarh between May 22 and 24.
