Bangalore: There are reports of women being raped continuously in the marchery of hospitals. However, there is no provision in the IPC that allows courts to punish the accused in such cases. The Karnataka High Court has now expressed anger over this. The court has written a letter to the Central Government asking that the IPC be amended. In such cases, there should be a provision for punishment under Section 377, because it is an unnatural act.

According to the report, the Karnataka High Court was hearing a case in which the accused had raped the body of the young woman after murder. The court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment in the murder case. At the same time, he was acquitted in the rape case. The court said that there is no provision for punishment for rape of a dead body in the IPC. The law believes that a dead body cannot protest, then how can it be considered as rape? The high court said that there are laws in the UK, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa which provide for stringent punishment for raping a woman's body. The court said that the government should make such an amendment so that no dead body is raped.

The court said that in the marches of private and government hospitals, it has often been seen that the person who is posted there to look after them rapes the corpses. But there is no strict law in our country to deal with such cases. The Government should pay attention to this. The high court said that the state governments should also take concrete steps to prevent such incidents. At least CCTV cameras should be installed in the morgues so that they do not dare to commit such an incident. The court said that the Center should make such a law on the rape of dead bodies, in which there is a provision for strict punishment. If there is a fear of punishment, then people will be afraid to commit such a heinous act.
