Kutch:Madhukar Gupta, Former Union Home Secretary, who heads a high-level committee on border security, is on a three-day visit to Kutch district of Gujarat to evaluate the security beside the India-Pakistan border.

A top police officer said, “ Gupta and some other members of the committee arrived here yesterday and held meetings with Border Security Force officials.”

"They also went to the border and took first-hand account of the security. They will leave tomorrow," the officer said

The Union government shaped the committee previous this month to recommend ways to strengthen the security beside the border with Pakistan and address the problem of gaps and vulnerability in the border fencing.

The report will be submitted in three months. The committee was shaped in awaken of the Pathankot airbase attack in January.
