As per the latest records Migrants entry has been increased in Europe within last year with having the six year highest number. Number of migrants entering Europe without authorization has reached to a number of around 330,000 last year, which is the highest since the 2016 data.

The number of irregular border crossing has increased by 64% comparing to the year 2021. The attempts were made where entry of around 330,000 detected through the Western Balkans region as per the EU Frontex agency “preliminary calculations”.

Afghans, Syrians and Tunisians have been accounted for 47% of the irregular crossings. And the numbers of Syrians have been doubled to 94,000 where Central Mediterranean route has accounted for a 100,000 number of crossings, the second highest route.

Men’s have accounted for more than 80% of the attempts to enter Europe where women has accounted for fewer crossings 1 out of 10, minors have fallen for the 9% of the total number of irregular entries.

As per the Frontex’s latest figures it did not include 13 million Ukrainian refugees who were counted at the EU’s external borders between February and December. Over 1 million have fled from conflicting areas most of them were Syrians entering the Europe in 2015, overwhelming reception facilities and sparking one of the 27-nation bloc's biggest political crises. Special emergency measures were introduced to ease their entry and help find them accommodation, training and short-term jobs.

People who are arriving at Europe border has to apply for asylum and have a reasonable chance of being allowed in one of that, while people who come without a visa in search of jobs and better life are being turned off.

The people who are making the journey through Central Mediterranean are poorly equipped and often come in overloaded boats and rubber dinghies which has rised from the previous year.

Member countries still argue over who should take responsibility for people arriving without authorization and whether their neighbors and partners should be obliged to help. Attempts to reform the bloc’s asylum system have made little progress.
