Freedom fighter Satyamitra Bakshi dies at 94

Una: Freedom fighter Satyamitra Bakshi died at the age of 94 on Thursday in Una city of Himachal Pradesh. He was cremated with state honors on Friday afternoon. He was cremated with reverence at the district headquarters. During this time the prominent leaders and administration of the city paid tribute.

The last journey was taken out of their premises on Friday. The last journey to the crematorium reached the main market of the district and the Chandigarh Dharamshala National Highway. While Satpal Singh Satti, Chairman of Finance Commission from BJP and Satna Singh Raizada, MLA from Una Sadar from Congress, SDM Dr. Suresh Jaswal and SHO Una Gaurav Bhardwaj, besides freedom fighter Satyabhushan Bakshi, paid homage to the departed soul. Veteran freedom fighter Satya Mitra Bakshi was cremated amid the slogan of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

Bakshi breathed his last at the age of 94 in his residence, Congress street Una. In 1926, Satyamitra Vakshi was born in the house of father Baba Laxman Das Arya and mother Durga Bai Arya. Satyamitra was brought up in a family that was helping in the freedom struggle. Satyamitra became a part of India's freedom struggle during childhood.
