Blast threat received amid New Year's celebrations, police immediately vacated the ground

Shimla: Police have suddenly stopped new year celebrations at Ridge Maidan in Himachal Pradesh's capital Shimla since Friday evening. Because there was a threat to blow up the ridge ground. Thereafter, the police evacuated the ridge ground filled with tourists as a precautionary measure. Due to this, people were sent back from the field citing Omicron. While according to the police, the reason is something else, the police vigil in Shimla was stepped up since the threat of bomb blast was received.

In fact, the New Year celebrations were going on since Friday evening at the Ridge Maidan in the capital Shimla. Thousands of tourists were on the field, which prevented the celebrations as a precautionary measure following the terror threat from Pakistan and the police evacuated the ground. It is said that a person of Kashmiri origin was entrusted with the responsibility of planting the bomb. On the other hand, police have been instructed to carry out a continuous investigation of hotels, gurdwaras, mosques, temples, railway stations, bus stands, hospitals etc. as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.

Thousands of tourists arrived at the ridge of the capital Shimla to celebrate the New Year. The area from Ridge to Mall Road was suddenly evacuated. This was followed by an uproar among tourists and locals. However, DC Shimla, SDM Shimla urban and several senior police officers were also present on the ridge.
