Bus driver sacrificed himself to save the lives of 30 passengers

Shimla: An HRTC bus rammed into a hill uncontrollably at Pandoh in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The bus driver was killed on the spot and 30 people were injured. The condition of one of the injured children remains very serious. It is being told that the bus driver put his life at stake to save the lives of the passengers.

The accident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. The bus was going towards Shimla from Manali and in the meantime, its control was disturbed. The driver diverted the bus towards the hill to save people's lives so that the bus collided and stopped there. However, the driver died on the spot. The accident was so severe that part of the bus driver's seat was completely crushed and the seats were also uprooted. The injured were rushed to the zonal hospital Mandi by ambulance. While some of the injured are being treated at the Pandoh Health Centre itself. 

On the other hand, the chief minister Of the state Jairam Thakur reached the regional hospital Mandi and enquired about the condition of those injured in the Pandoh road accident. CM Jai Ram Thakur expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He said that the driver's wisdom avoided a major accident. If the driver does not turn the bus towards the hill, the bus falls into the Beas River. Our thoughts are with the family members of the driver and all possible help will be provided to them.
