These days crime related to communal reasons are increasing. In a yet another shocking incident reported from the Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, A 19-year-old girl committed suicide after her family allegedly murdered her 20-year-old Muslim boyfriend.
According to the information the boy was named Zia-ur-Rehman. The girl's family initially called the boy to their house and brutally thrashed him for having an 'affair' with their daughter. Zia-ur-Rehman was the classmate of the girl, breathed his last in a hospital in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The incident took place in Islampur locality of the Rampur Maniharan area of the district.
The deceased girl is identified as Tannu Saini was a BSc student and was allegedly in a relationship with the Muslim boy. The police said they haven't yet received any complaint from any of the families. No FIR has been filed yet. Markets remained closed fearing communal tension. Zia's father Ayub Ahmad. Said, "We rushed to the spot after someone informed us and took him to a hospital from where he was referred to Dehradun. He succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday."
SSP Vipin Tada said appropriate action will be taken in this regard. Police forces have been deployed in the area to control the situation. Police also claimed said they haven't yet received any complaint from any of the families. Police officials maintain that any action would be based on the autopsy report of the deceased man. The post-mortem report of Tannu mentions death due to hanging. Further investigation is going in the matter.
