Gwalior: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Saturday said that the judgment in Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya dispute "must expedite" and "remove obstacles" in the construction of a Ram Mandir at the disputed site.

Asserting that the RSS has full faith in the Supreme Court, the RSS said that it was surprising that the Supreme Court declined to give an urgent hearing date for the case. The statement said, “We are experiencing that Hindus are constantly being neglected. While having full respect in the judicial system, we would like to say emphatically that the judgment on the dispute must expedite and remove the obstacles in constructing a grand temple."

The organization’s statement has come a day after the Supreme Court ordered mediation in the Ayodhya dispute constituting a 3-member panel headed by Justice (Retd.) FM Kalifulla and comprising spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and mediation expert and senior advocate Shriram Panchu.

Earlier in November 2018, apex court had declined early hearing of petitions in the title dispute. The Court had then marked the case for hearing in January before an appropriate bench, which will decide the schedule of hearing.
