Rani has said, "People never expected a good performance from the Indian women's team and this thing was missing to us." Nobody expected us to win. Satisfaction was achieved only by participation. But now the attitude of the people is changing. Rani has also voted the best player of the year at the FICCI India Sports Awards. She said, "For me personally, this award will prove to be an inspiration to perform better. This will also help in the development of women hockey.
