Hockey India has announced the names of 33 likely playing for the junior women's team keeping in mind the upcoming international tournaments including the World Cup. They were selected after a three-week practice camp at SAI (SAI) in Bengaluru. Earlier, 65 players had been selected on the basis of their performance in domestic tournaments annually. Indian women's team's head coach Yankee Shopman said, "These are very talented players who have done well in the last few weeks.''

Potential teams:

Goalkeepers: Khushboo, Madhuri Kindo, Kurpapu Ramya.

Defenders: Preeti, Neelam, Mamita Oram, Mahita Tete, Nishi Yadav, Sanskriti Sarwan, Kajal Bara, Manita, Manju Chaurasia.

Midfielders: Vaishnavi Phalke, Jyoti Edula, Jyoti Singh, Ritika Singh, K Sonia Devi, Jyoti Chhatri, Ashwini Kolekar, Priyanka Yadav, Nikita Toppo, Anisha Sahu, Hina Bano.

Forwards: Annu, Beauty Dungdung, Taranpreet Kaur, Rutuja Pisal, M Bhavani, Mumtaz Khan, Dipika Soreng, Chandana J, Sadashiv Atpadkar, Aanchal Sahu.
