Indian motorcycle manufacturer Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has made a big announcement. The company said that the sale of BS6 two-wheeler in the domestic market has crossed the figure of 11 lakh units. The automaker started its BS6 vehicle dispatch in September 2019 and has achieved this new milestone in almost nine months.
The last 4 months have been the worst for the auto sector due to the coronavirus epidemic, which makes this achievement more special. In contrast, Honda's main competitor in the Indian market, Hero Motocorp, introduced BS6 standard vehicles only earlier this year.
Company employee Yadvinder Singh Guleria said, "It is a matter of great pride for us at Honda that our 11 Advanced BS6 model has won the trust, and has created joy ride among customers across India. It is a quiet revolution from Honda in the BS6 era, as our product portfolio starts with the industry's most diverse 110 cc scooters and motorcycles leading up to 1100 cc premium adventure bikes. As many customers now in the challenging times of New Normal Choosing personal mobility for safety and hygiene, Honda is unlocking the new pricing with its many initiatives such as online booking, attractive retail finance schemes, industry-first 6-year warranty options.
