Across the globe, there were ample researches going on to fiond the vaccine, to find the prevention method, the impacts the virus make, who all are prone to it easily and so on, but the British researchers are hoping to expose healthy volunteers to the virus that causes Covid-19. The groundbreaking study is to discover the amount of the deadly virus needed for people to become infected.
With the hope that the test results will reduce the spread of the coronavirus, alleviate its impact and reduce deaths the Human Challenge Programme in partnership with Imperial College London is conducting this test. The initial stage of this project examines the possibility of exposing healthy volunteers to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The volunteers aged between 18 and 30 are the highly targeted with no underlying health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes or obesity. The infection is to be made through the nose. The careful examination of volunteers prior to infection, during infection gives a complete transformation of the process.
This results can be used to find how vaccine should work and the potential treatment possibilities can be derived. However, the safety of the volunteers is the number one priority, said the team. About the risks they said, no study is 100% risk-free but we will ensure the risk will be reduced to low as much as possible. The study will begin in the early period of next year, it includes the government, a clinical comapany and a hospital.
