Hyderabad: The police had picked up his son from the house, and killed him. Pinjari Hussain, father of Mohd Arif alias Ahmed, the main accused in Disha rape and murder case, said. The families of the remaining three accused, who were killed in the police encounter, are to appear before the Sirpurkar Commission on Saturday. They are Jollu Siva's father Rajayya, Chintakuntala Chennakeshavulu's father Kurmanna and Jollu Naveen's mother Lakshmi.

The kin of the accused on Friday recorded their statements before the Supreme Court-appointed Sirpurkar Inquiry Commission in the Disha encounter case in Hyderabad. The case pertains to the rape and murder of a young veterinarian on November 27, 2019. The police had traced and arrested four people.

On 6 December the same year, the four accused were killed in an encounter at the crime scene near Shadnagar. The police had claimed that the accused snatched their weapons and tried to run away which led to the murders. The incident had sparked anger from human rights activists, who approached the Supreme Court. Subsequently, the Sirpurkar Commission was appointed to investigate the murders.
