The Hyderabad Metro Rail stated on Sunday that the schedules of its services will be rescheduled starting from Monday. With the Covid-19 safety procedure in place, Hyderabad Metro Rail will now run from 7 a.m. (first train) until 10.15 p.m. (final train from respective locations), reaching all terminating stations at 11.15 p.m.

"Passengers are urged to carefully observe the Covid-19 safety rules, which include social distance, wearing face masks, regular hand sanitization, and thermal screening, among other things, for everyone's safety. "Passengers are asked to cooperate with security officials and staff from the Hyderabad Metro Rail in their efforts to keep the metro ride safe," said an L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited spokeswoman (LTMRHL).

According to current schedules, the final train departs from each station around 9 p.m. and arrives at the corresponding destination stations at 10 p.m. Since the Telangana government enforced the Covid shutdown on May 12, the Hyderabad Metro Rail has been operating at a reduced capacity. Following the extension of the lockdown relaxation time, the services were rescheduled twice.

Since June 21, when the lockdown was lifted completely, the Hyderabad Metro Rail has been running from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. After then, the services were extended till 10 p.m. The 73-kilometre elevated metro was built at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore in a public-private partnership (PPP) format, making it the world's largest metro project.
