Hyderabad: The first step of the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) towards the Corona Vaccine Clinical Trials has been successful. To eliminate the coronavirus, the 'COVAXIN' developed by Bharat Biotech International of Hyderabad was given to two volunteers at NIMS on Monday. Both of them were sent by the doctors from the hospital when their health was stable. Dr. C. Prabhakar Reddy, Principal Investigator and Assistant Professor of COVAXIN Clinical Trials of NIMS, recently talked about this.

He said that after 14 days, the health of both the volunteers is going to be tested again. He also told that every day for the next 14 days, he would monitor the health of the volunteers through phone and video calls. By bringing them to the hospital again, their blood samples can be examined. Due to the inactivated virus present in the vaccine, to what level antibodies have increased in the body, whether any other problem has occurred, it can be investigated. Until it is confirmed that everything is fine, another dose of the drug will not be given.

No allergies or other diseases have been found in the vaccines. Doctors of the clinical and pharmacology department of NIMS have expressed happiness over the success of first attempt of COVAXIN in human trials.
