Hyderabad: The third incident of rape of a minor girl has been committed in Telangana's capital Hyderabad within a week. This time, the accused of raping the minor is 21-year-old Mohammed Sufiyan. The incident is of Kalapathar area. Police have arrested the accused Sufiyan under the Pocso Act and other sections and sent him to jail. The incident is said to have taken place on May 31, 2022 (Thursday).
Inspector S Sudarshan of Kalapathar police station confirmed the incident and the arrest of the accused. He said the victim has been sent for medical examination. Mohammad Sufiyan has also been booked under the POCSO Act along with Sections 363, 376(2) ipc of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to media reports, the victim worked as a salesgirl at a cloth shop in Charminar area.
On the day of the incident, the accused took the victim to his house and raped her. He then left her back at the store. Inspector Kala Patthar told the media, "On May 5, 2022 (Sunday), the victim told her mother about the record being lodged in her body. At the same time, he also informed about the activities being done by Mohammad Sufiyan. Later, on the complaint of the victim's mother, a case was registered and the police arrested Sufiyan and sent him to jail.
