ICC cancels two more series due to fear of Coronavirus

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday postponed the series nine of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 and the second ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Challenge League B due to the Coronavirus epidemic. The ICC said in a statement that it has been decided to postpone the ICC's extensive contingency planning process at all events and the series after consulting members and the government and public health officials concerned.

The series nine of the Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 was to be held from 4 to 11 July, where 6 ODIs were to be played between hosts Nepal and Namibia. The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Challenge League B was scheduled to be held between 3 and 13 August in Uganda. The second League B event of the competition was to have 15 matches, including the hosts, Bermuda, Hong Kong, Italy, Jersey, and Kenya. Both of these tournaments are part of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 event, for this the ICC will decide the new schedule of the event with all the members participating.

ICT's Head of Events, Chris Tetley, said, "We have taken two more series between international travel restrictions and global health concerns on the advice of the government and the Public Health Authority regarding the coronavirus epidemic. We decided to postpone the part of the 2023 Men's Cricket World Cup."
