Patna: Driving of minors in Bihar will prove to be very expensive. In this regard, the transport department has now made arrangements to impose a fine and the parents of the minors will have to pay the fine. According to the transport department, if the minor is caught driving, a fine of 25,000 rupees will now have to be paid and the fine will be collected from his parents. The transport department has imposed a provision of heavy penalties to crack down on minor drivers.  

In Bihar, minor drivers can often be seen driving. Even minor drivers driving autos in the capital Patna are easily seen. Due to this negligence, many times there are also major accidents. To avoid this, the transport department has made a new system of fines.  

According to the transport department, the Transport Act provides for heavy fines. The order has been sent to the transport officers of all the cities of Bihar so that it can be strictly followed. Now minor drivers will be booked under the Juvenile Justice Act and the registration of motor vehicles will also be cancelled. According to the transport department, a minor between the ages of 16 and 18 is allowed to ride a motorcycle without gear. A scooty or other vehicle can be driven without gear, but children below the age of 16 are not allowed to drive any vehicle. The department has engaged the newly appointed mobile constable to nab the minor drivers. Action will be initiated against such minor drivers from next month.
