IIT Hyderabad has created an artificial intelligence-based low-cost testing kit that will test the corona in 20 minutes. Testing kits have been tested at ESIC Medical College and Hyderabad hospitals. Researchers say that the biggest advantage of this kit is that it will not require the RTPCR (Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction) test. This testing kit was created under the leadership of IIT Hyderabad Professor Shiv Govind Singh by postdoctoral fellow Dr Suryansh Tripathi, Doctoral student Patta Supraja and other researchers of the team.

In his statement, Professor Shiv Govind Singh said that the research team has the capability and human resources to do mass production of testing kits. For this, we are taking funds from various government and private agencies.

Professor Shiv Govind Singh said that RTPCR is currently important for corona investigation. The samples of the first patient are collected and taken in MTM and taken to the testing centre. There is an RNA extraction of samples. After RNA extraction, they are converted into DNA. After being converted to DNA, it is amplified. After amplifying, he is seen whether there is corona or not. This is a very long process. The reason for this long process is that it is less likely to be caught at low viral load, hence the process of amplification has to be adopted. Its machine is heavy and the test price is also high.
