Imphal: Two Blasts Near Congress Leaders' Houses, No Injuries Reported

On the 12th of January, two huge blasts occurred near the houses of two Congress leaders in the state of Manipur's Imphal region. In front of the houses of Congress leaders, a grenade and an improvised explosive device (IED) burst.According to reports, no one was injured as a result of the blasts on Wednesday.

Former MLA Salam Joy Singh and Khujiram Ratankumar Singh are the two Congress politicians who were there when the incident happened. Former MLA Salam Joy Singh's home is in the Imphal West district's Samurou Naorem Chakpram area, while Khujiram Ratankumar Singh's home is in the Imphal East district's Kanglasangomsang.

The first improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in the late hours of the night at the residence of senior Congress leader Ratankumar Singh. The bomb caused damage to the automobiles parked in the house's parking lot, as well as to the house's walls and window glass. A grenade bomb was hurled at the home gates of Salam Joy Singh about 30 minutes after the first blast at around 02:20 a.m., just 30 minutes after the first blow.

The incident occurred only days before the Assembly Elections 2022, which are set to take place on February 27 and March 3, 2022. The election procedure for the Assembly will be conducted in two stages. Ratankumara and Salam are both Hindus. Joy Singh and other Congress candidates are to contest in the 2022 Assembly Elections. Ratankumara will run for election in the Khurai seat, while Joy Singh will stand for election in the Wangoi constituency.
