Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation last Friday informed that vaccination programmes will remain closed at local bodies and government centres due to a shortage of coronavirus infection prevention vaccines in Mumbai. The same employees will not have corona vaccination on the coming Sunday as they are on weekly holidays. In fact, due to the shortage of corona vaccine, the campaign BMC last Friday and remained suspended at the vaccination centres of the Maharashtra government. In a statement last Friday, BMC said that vaccination will remain suspended today i.e.

At the same time, it will remain closed on Sunday as the employees have a weekly holiday. In addition, the body in its statement had said, "Vaccination campaign can be launched only after the fresh consignment of corona vaccine is received. Let me tell you that the BMC has informed the people of Mumbai about corona vaccination that it will start only after receiving the vaccine dose. You must be aware that the local body had stopped vaccination on 1st July also due to shortage of vaccine at BMC and government centres.

In fact, BMC says, "A total of 59,29,190 people have been vaccinated in Mumbai till July 7. Out of these, 12,47,410 people have also been given a second dose of the vaccine. Let us also tell all of you that Mumbai currently has 401 active vaccination centres, out of which 283 are from BMC, 20 from the government of Maharashtra. At the same time, 98 private centres are also administering the corona vaccine.
