On the back of Alexander Zverev, Germany defeated the American 2-1 in the ATP Cup tennis tournament. Zverev defeated Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4 in the second match. In the first match, John Leonard Struff defeated John Isner 7-6, 4-6, 7-5.
According to reports, Germany's Kevin Krawitz and Tim Puetz suffered a 0-6, 3-6 defeat at the hands of Isner and Fritz in the doubles. Germany and the US have also won one match each in Group C so far. The US defeated Canada 3-0 in the first match while Germany lost 1-2 to Britain.
In Group B, Italy has returned after beating France. They have lost to Australia in the first match. Yanik Siner defeated Arthur Rindernech 6-3, 7-6 (3) while Mateo Beratini defeated Yougo Herbert 6-4, 7-6 to give Italy an unbeaten lead. Both of them have later made a clean sweep by winning the doubles match.
