New Delhi: Rohit Sharma, who played a key role in the team's victory due to his brilliant innings in the first Test match, was declared 'Man of the Match'. When Rohit Sharma started his Test career against West Indies in 2013, he scored 177 runs. He was adjudged Man of the Match because of this innings. After this, after six years, he was given the opportunity to make his Test debut for India in 2019 and he became the man of the match on the basis of his two century innings.
Rohit Sharma scored 176 runs in the first innings of this match and 127 runs in the second innings. Before him, Virender Sehwag was the only Indian opener batsman to win the man of the match against South Africa in Test cricket. Virender Sehwag did this feat in the year 2008.
