New Delhi: Indian Railways has prepared a big blow to China by making a big change in its procurement procedures. In order to promote domestic products, a provision will be added in the rules related to which domestic vendors and suppliers will be able to bid more aggressively in the railway procurement process. In this case, Indian Railways has issued a statement saying that this will give a boost to the Government's self-reliant India Mission.

The statement said that if necessary, assistance would also be sought from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade for appropriate policy changes. Indian Railways said that a review meeting was held on Saturday to encourage domestic products in the procurement process. In which more emphasis has been given that the participation of local vendors in the procurement process should be increased. At the meeting, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal reviewed measures to encourage domestic products in the procurement process of Railways and Government of India.

In this meeting, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized on measures to create confidence in the industry by making the railway procurement process corruption free and transparent. The Indian Railways said in the statement that the local content clause in the procurement should be such that it brought in more bids from local vendors and suppliers. This will give a boost to the Self-reliant India Mission.
