New Delhi: Independence Day is being celebrated today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today unfurled the tricolor at the Red Fort and addressed the nation. Today, the celebrations of The Amrit Mahotsav of Independence have begun in the country. In his address from the ramparts of the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "There comes a time in every country's development journey when that country redefines itself, moves forward with new resolutions, the time has come for India's development journey today. Now we have to go to the saturation. It is time that 100 percent of the villages have roads, 100 percent of households have bank accounts, 100 percent beneficiaries have Ayushman Bharat cards, 100 percent eligible persons have Ujjwala scheme gas connection.''

At the same time, he said, "Heartiest greetings to all countrymen on the 75th Independence Day of Independence. Today, on this occasion of The Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the country is remembering all its freedom fighters. Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqullah Khan, Rani Lakshmibai, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Babasaheb Ambedkar and others are remembered by the country today. PM Modi said that victory and defeat continued to come, but the desire for freedom in mind has never ended.''

At the same time, he said, "During the Corona period, doctors, scientists of the country have made vaccines, crores of people have done public service from moment to moment. Today, many people have lost their lives in floods and landslides in many parts of the country. PM Modi clapped for all the sportspersons here. The pain of partition still pierces the chest of India, one of the greatest centuries of the last century. India has decided that 14th August will now be remembered as Bifurcation Horror Commemoration Day every year. Those who suffered atrocities at the time of partition will now be respected.''

Later, PM Modi also said that Pradhan Mantri Gatishakti yojana will be announced, it will be a scheme worth over Rs 100 lakh crore, bringing employment opportunities to lakhs of youth. This will be a master plan for the country which will lay the foundation for new infrastructure. The Corona period came with a lot of challenges, the country faced these difficulties together. It is our strength that today we did not have to depend on any foreign country for the vaccine, what would have happened if India had not had its own vaccine. India lost many years in getting a polio vaccine, but our scientists created history during such a big crisis.
