NEW DELHI: After US President Donald Trump's statement on the mediation proposal on the Kashmir issue, India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has once again made it clear to the US that if there is any talk on Kashmir then It will be bilateral and will be with Pakistan. Thus, India has once again refused any third-party intervention on the issue.

Foreign minister S Jaishankar and Us Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met at the Foreign Ministers' Conference of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) held in Bangkok today. During the meeting, the External Affairs Minister has categorically told his U.S. counterpart Mike Pompeo this morning that "if there is any discussion on Kashmir, it will be bilateral and only with Pakistan".

The meeting between the two leaders comes after the US President made a statement on the second mediation proposal in Kashmir. Trump has once again said that he is ready to mediate between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. Trump said it now depends entirely on PM Modi to accept the arbitration proposal. He has said that both PM Modi and Imran Khan are excellent people and have spoken openly to both of them on the Kashmir issue.
