India Defeats Iran in Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 Semifinal

New Delhi:India excelled to win the 2023 Asian Kabaddi Championship title. In the decisive game, which was held in Busan, South Korea, India defeated Iran 42–32. It is a record that the Indian men's team has won this tournament's championship eight times. Iran is the only nation besides India that has won this championship in the men's division, winning in 2003.

The Iranian team overpowered India for the first five minutes of the game. Following this, the Indian team's defenders produced some outstanding tackles, which helped them mount a tremendous comeback in the game.

Then, through successful raids, Captain Pawan Sehrawat and Aslam Inamdar were crucial in forcing Iran to go all-out. It was once again all-out as India continued to overwhelm the Iranian team.

India enjoyed a 23-11 lead at the end of the first half. Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza contributed significantly to India's first all-out in the second half by getting some outstanding points, but it was not enough to win the game.

In the end, the Indian side was successful in winning the game handily. Aslam Inamdar scored eight points, Pawan Sehrawat scored thirteen, and Arjun Deshwal scored five for India.

In the final round of this competition, the Indian team defeated Pakistan to claim the victory and the title. The Asian Games, which will take place in September–October, will now be the Indian team's true test.

Let us inform you that the Indian team had to accept the bronze medal after losing to Iran in the semi-finals of the Asian Games held in 2018. The Indian men's kabaddi team hopes to exact revenge this time.

The 19th Asian Games were scheduled to take place from September 10 to September 25 of last year, however they were postponed due to the increase in Corona virus cases in China.

The third time that the Asian Games will be hosted in China. When the Asian Games were held in the Chinese capital Beijing in 1990, Guangzhou was given the opportunity to host them in 2010.
