In this sequence, the Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday approved the deployment of three new ships of the Coast Guard. These include one Indian Coast Guard ship and two intercept boats.

Their deployment will give a boost to India's security amidst increasing challenges in the sea area. The ICGS deployed today has been built at Goa Shipyard Limited under Make in India, which has all kinds of modern facilities. During this, the Defense Minister said that the rising power of the Indian Coast Guard and the Indian Shipbuilding Industry of our sea guard is a matter of pride for the country. He said that I commend Indian Coast Guard and Goa Shipyard Limited for this initiative of commissioning through digital means.

Rajnath Singh further said that it is necessary to strengthen the country's maritime boundaries under PM Narendra Modi's Sagar campaign. He said that as the fourth largest Coast Guard in the world, the Indian Coast Guard has strengthened itself. It not only protects our coastline and coastal community, but also economic activities in the EEZ, and the marine environment.
