India has moved from 'Tax terrorism to tax transparency' says PM Modi

During the inauguration ceremony of Office-cum-Residential Complex of Cuttack Bench of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday has made a remarkable comment about the tax system. He said  the country is moving from “tax terrorism to tax transparency”. 

PM added if the country's wealth creator difficulties are reduced, they get protection, and obviously their trust grows in the country's wealth systems. With increase in trust, more partners are joining the tax system for the country's development. The reduction of tax and the simple process, the biggest reforms are related to the dignity of honest taxpayers, to protect them from trouble. 99.75 percent of the returns filed in the country till today are accepted without any objection due to the trust on the income tax filed a drastic change in the thought process. He said it is a big change in the country's tax system.

The government has moved ahead with this vision and today's taxpayer is witnessing huge changes and transparency in the entire tax system. Modi highlighted zero tax on income up to Rs 5 lakh as a “huge benefit being given to our youth of lower middle-class today”. The new option provided by the union budget has simplified the lives of the taxpayer.
