ISRO is about to launch such a satellite in the third quarter of this year, which is going to be helpful for the country's on-ground development and disaster management. This satellite will work for the security of the border. This is an Earth Observation Satellite that is going to keep an eye on India's land and its borders from space only. The name of this geo-imaging satellite is EOS-3/GISAT-1 (Earth Observation Satellite-3/Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle F10). Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State, Ministry of Science and Technology, said in response to a question in the Rajya Sabha that the launch of this satellite is going to be done in the third quarter of 2021. Dr. Jitendra Singh said that it will provide real-time information related to natural calamities and weather. It is made to take photos 4 to 5 times a day all over the country. Apart from this, this satellite will be used for water sources, crops, Will also provide complete information about changes in forests, etc. However, quoting ISRO sources, the launch of this satellite can happen on or around August 12.

Let us tell you that the launch of EOS-3 / GISAT-1 is going to be done from the Satish Dhawan Space Center located on Sriharikota Island of Andhra Pradesh. GSLV-MK2 rocket is going to be used for launching. The rocket is about to place the EOS-3/GISAT-1 satellite in geostationary orbit. Where it will continue to revolve around the earth at an altitude of 36 thousand kilometers. The launch can also be postponed due to weather or technical constraints. The Ogive Shaped Payload Fairing (OPLF) satellite will be launched for the first time from the GSLV-MK2 rocket. That is, the EOS-3 / GISAT-1 satellite is included in the OPLF category. This means that the satellite is going to look like an arch of 4 meters in diameter. If ISRO sources are to be believed, this will be the eighth flight of a rocket equipped with an indigenous cryogenic engine. While the 14th flight of the GSLV rocket.

According to the information received, the EOS-3 / GISAT-1 satellite is going to be deployed in its designated orbit within 19 minutes of launch. The special thing about this satellite is its cameras. There are 3 cameras on this satellite. First multi-spectral visible and near-infrared (6 bands), second hyperspectral visible and near-infrared (158 bands), and third hyper-spectral short wave-infrared (256 bands). The resolution of the first camera is 42 meters, that of the second is 318 meters and that of the third is 191 meters. That is, the object of this shape can be easily captured in this camera.

A visible camera means a day-ear camera that will capture normal photos. Apart from this, it also has an infrared camera. Who is going to take pictures at night? That is, if there is any kind of activity on the border of India, then EOS-3 / GISAT-1 cannot escape from the sight of satellite cameras. It is capable of taking photos in any weather. Apart from this, with the help of this satellite, disaster management can keep an eye on any sudden incident. Along with this, it is also the task of this satellite to monitor the sea including agriculture, forest, mineralogy, pre-disaster information, cloud properties, ice, and glaciers.

If sources are to be believed, 37 Earth Observation Satellites were launched from the year 1979 till now. Two of these failed at the time of launch. ISRO was earlier going to launch it on March 5 but due to some technical reasons, it was postponed. Then the news came that this satellite can be launched on 28 March but it has been postponed again to 16 April. But even at that time, the launch could not take place.
