India- Netherlands boosts bilateral ties in energy, agriculture, water and technology

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte as the Netherlands joined the International Solar Alliance (ISA) here on Thursday.

During the Dutch premier’s second visit to India Dutch, India-Netherlands agreed for enhancing bilateral ties in the fields of energy, agriculture, water and technology .

 Worth mentioning here that Both Premiers began the day with welcoming messages on Twitter, Modi tweeted in Dutch while Rutte in Hindi.

 After delegation-level talks at Hyderabad house Delhi, PM Modi said, “I had called upon the Netherlands to join the International Solar Alliance and I am happy to tell you that the country has become a member of it today.”

 While In his comments, PM Rutte said there was a enormous scope for the both countries to extend cooperation in areas of trade and investment, clean energy, agriculture and smart cities.

Both Prime ministers addressed business CEOs, with Rutte holding a separate talks with the Tata group, which has run into difficulty in the Netherlands because of US tariffs on steel and local union problems. Addressing a select group later,

Rutte asserted, “I pledge here today that I will make a personal investment in the EU-India relationship. I believe we can pave the way for the rest of Europe.”
