India observes October 22 as black day against Pak aggression

The Narendra Modi government will observe 22 October as ‘Black Day’ as a mark of protest against Pakistan's raids in Jammu & Kashmir in 1947. Pakistan army-backed attackers illegally entered into the Indian territory of Kashmir on October 22, 1947, and committed atrocities against the local populace. Every year, on October 22 India observes as ‘Black Day’ by refugees from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The militia of tribal men armed with axes, swords and guns and backed by the Pakistan Army attacked Kashmir where they slaughtered men, children and turned women into their slaves, an official was quoted as saying by news agency Indo-Asian News Service. To mark the day, an exhibition and a two-day seminar have also been planned on October 22 in Srinagar, the agency reported.

Let us watch what happened on October 22, 1947: Pakistan Army directed to create a 'Lashkar' of 1000 tribesmen. Pakistan's brigade commanders provided arms and articles of clothing to these men at Bannu, Wanna, Peshawar, Kohat, Thal and Nowshera. Major General Akbar Khan commanded the force that was also provided with officers of the rank of Majors and Captains.  7 Infantry Division of the Pakistan Army focused on Murree -Abbottabad area on the night of October 21, 1947, even as the Lashkars focus on other areas. Invaders entered Baramulla on October 26, 1947, and started carrying out atrocities against the local populace.
