India prioritize connectivity with SCO countries for sustainable transport operation

The 8th meeting of the Road, Transport and Highways Ministers of SCO Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States was conducted through video conference hosted by the Russian Federation on October 28, 2020. Mr. Giridhar Aramane, Secretary, Road Transport & Highways, Government of India represented the country in the video conference. 

The outcomes of 19th SCO meeting hosted by India

Mr. Giridhar for  cooperation and trust between SCO societies prioritizes connectivity with SCO countries. He has shared India’s experience in intelligent transport systems. In the Transport Ministries/Departments of the Member States the need for the coordinated cations was put forth by him to ensure sustainable transport operation in emergency situations like #COVID19 pandemic and to prevent the spreading of emergency situations across the borders. The transport facility will assure the quick transportation of the emergency materials like medicines and equipments during pandemic and food essentials during natural calamities and so on. Member countries includes Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan,  Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan participated in the meeting.

Earlier Piyush Goyal has addressed the SCO meeting with Ministers responsible for Foreign Economy and Foreign Trade Activities 19th meeting hosted by India on October 28, a suggestion to explore partnerships that enhance trade and investment in the SCO region and to stay cooperated was made.
