Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Ministers responsible for Foreign Economy and Foreign Trade Activities 19th meeting was hosted by India on October 28, today. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal said that the current crisis due to Covid-19 demands SCO countries to explore partnerships that enhance trade and investment in the region. He asks SCO countries to stay cooperated, The cooperation will boosts intra-SCO trade and investment, but is critical to ensure a speedy recovering post-pandemic.

The civilization and philosophical tradition shapes the nation's view on the world. He added, India’s ancient wisdom sees the world as one family called Vasudeva Kutumbakam. Four things adopted in the meeting includes,  reinforces enhanced cooperation for easy access to medicines and trade owing to COVID-19, Statement highlighting the importance of the rules based multilateral negotiations applicable for Multilateral Trading System for WTO members, Statement on SCO cooperation on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Action plan to implement MoU for cooperation in MSME filed development.

Minister concluded all these are very important milestones of the SCOs. Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Shri Hardeep Singh Puri spoke out few things on the occasion. The virtual meeting was attended by the Secretary General of SCO and Ministers from Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan,  Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
