Bhubaneswar: India has achieved a new peak on Thursday in the field of missile testing. India successfully tested the inter molecular missile Agni -5, which has been extending from the surface to surface from the surface of 5,000 km. This missile is capable of carrying nuclear weapons with them. The successful test of Agni -5 was done from Abdul Kalam Island of Odisha. This missile can reach the interior areas of China.

 Agni -5 is about 17 metres long, 2-metre wide and has launch weight of around 50 tonnes, the missile can carry a nuclear warhead of more than one tonne.Once the Agni-V is inducted in the Indian military, India would join the super exclusive club of countries with ICBMs alongside the US, Russia, China, France and Britain.The first test of Agni-V was conducted on April 19, 2012, while the second test was launched on September 15, 2013 and the third on January 31, 2015.

Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in Chennai that India successfully tested the Agni-5 ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear weapons on Thursday.

The Agni Series missile has been prepared by Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). India already has Agni-1, Agni-II and Agni-3 missiles. They have been prepared under the strategy created against Pakistan. Agni-4 and Agni -5 have been designed keeping China in mind.
