New Delhi: Pakistan has allowed India to transport wheat to Afghanistan via its route. On Monday, the foreign ministries of both the countries have confirmed this. Now the wheat of India will be able to reach Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, via Pakistan. For this, Pakistan has given permission for Indian trucks to pass through its routes. Under the agreement signed between the two neighboring countries, dozens of Indian trucks will reach Afghanistan via Pakistan.

Officials have told the press on the condition of anonymity that Indian trucks will start leaving from February 21. After crossing the Wagah border, these trucks full of wheat will reach Lahore first. From there, the next day, these trucks will cross the border from Torkham in Pakistan and reach Jalalabad in Afghanistan. Amidst tension on the border, India had announced three months ago that 50 thousand metric tons of wheat aid would be sent to Afghanistan. Along with this, the Indian government had also announced to help the struggling Afghanistan with life-saving medicines and other equipment.

But for the arrival of Indian help, it was necessary for Pakistan to agree. Pakistan had said at that time that it can give way to Indian help. But India was waiting for the formalities to be completed. Officials said that India's preparations were completed only last week. Due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, the movement between the two countries has reduced significantly.
